Beyond the Betrayal Program Gilbert, Therapy Trust Recovery

Couples focus primarily on the "Atone and Attune" phases of clinical recovery to move past the paralysis of a broken bond. Participants learn the vital skill of trauma-informed communication, which helps betrayed partners articulate their pain without devolving into a "shameblame" cycle and teaches unfaithful partners how to provide "empathetic mirrors" rather than defensive rebuttals. By practicing de-escalation techniques, couples learn to manage "emotional flooding"—the sudden, overwhelming surges of panic or rage— allowing them to move through the full disclosure process with radical transparency rather than the damaging effects of "trickletruth." The secondary focus of the bootcamp is the reconstruction of the attachment bond through the establishment of new relational "safety contracts." Couples develop specific, actionable skills in transparency, such as creating an "open-book" policy regarding digital and physical boundaries to rebuild reliability. Beyond logistical trust, the bootcamp guides couples in identifying the "negative cycle" that existed prior to the infidelity, teaching them to replace defensive withdrawal with vulnerable reaching. The goal is for partners to have the tools to begin co-creating a "Marriage 2.0," transitioning from a state of mere survival to a partnership grounded in deliberate, conscious intimacy.

Golden Hour Counseling offers bootcamps ranging from 3-8 hours depending on client's needs and availability on Mondays and Fridays. Bootcamps are billed at $150 per hour with the minimum bootcamp being 3 hours. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee.
